The 16 HP M2.18 marine diesel engine combines elegance with high performance. Completely developed in-house, our engine is compact, fuel-efficient and powerful. This allows him to compete with the best engines on the market. Innovations and developments have led to significant improvements over the years. Thanks to the water-cooled engine cover, much of the engine’s waste heat is absorbed and dissipated without affecting the engine room. This keeps the room temperature 15–20 °C lower (20% reduction!) compared to other engines of similar size.
To further reduce the noise generated by the running engine, a cast aluminum engine cover was attached directly to the housing. Together with a state-of-the-art air filter, it reduces the noise level by 5 dB(A). At speeds around 2200 rpm, the engine runs almost silently, providing a more pleasant driving experience for you and your crew. The cover also serves as a step, making it easier to work on the engine.
Our 16 HP M2.18 marine diesel engine comes standard with a high-performance marine generator. This recharges the batteries particularly quickly. The M-Line engines are also approved for operation with hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO). This lower-carbon fuel is a more sustainable alternative to diesel and contains little sulfur and aromatics. The use of renewable fuels reduces exhaust emissions by up to 90% (CO₂, CO, HC, NOx and particulate matter). This engine is also available as a Saildrive compatible version.
